Luiz Fabiano - MEU BEM, AO MENOS TELEFONE

Luiz Fabiano, whose real name was Jayr Campos Rodrigues hailed from Tupã-SP, a town 600 km away from São Paulo where he was born in 6 May 1942. 

Fabiano was a crooner with the Silvio Mazzucca's orchestra who had a TV show on TV Excelsior. When Channel 9 broadcast the II Song Festival Fabiano in June 1966, he sang 'Canção para um maiô azul com bolinhas brancas' (Song for a blue swim-trunk with white dots) no doubt inspired by Brian Hyland's 'Itsy bitsy teenie mini yellow polka dot bikini' as Jair Campos. The song was placed #9. 

In 1967, he was signed by Odeon and given a new name: Luiz Fabiano. His records were produced by Tony Campello and he finally hit the charts with 'Se você se arrepender' in 1968.; not only this but Roberto Carlos recorded Fabiano's 'Você me pediu' for 'As 14 Mais - Volume XXII' Later he went over to Beverly where he recorded this album which yielded 'Meu bem, ao menos telefone', his greatest hit.

Os gostos musicais são muito subjetivos já que muito influem neles a nossa idade, personalidade, experiências vividas e um sem fim de variáveis. Pessoalmente sou fanático da música dos anos oitenta mas sou aberto a outros gêneros musicais, tanto é que considero que a canção mais romântica e sensual de todas as épocas é Je t’aime… moi non plus, que foi escrita na década de sessenta pelo mítico e incorrigível Serge Gainsbourg, que a dedicou à sua amante de turno que naquela época era a belíssima Brigitte Bardot.

Serge Gainsbourg era filho de um imigrante russo que ganhava a vida a tocar piano em bares e cabarés. Desde muito jovem demonstrou verdadeiro talento com as telas e pincéis e, tal como a maioria dos parisienses da sua geração, considerava-se um artista frustrado.
Depois de fracassar como pintor, viu-se obrigado a trabalhar como pianista em clubes de segunda categoria, de gays e de striptease, já que tinha de sobreviver de alguma forma. É num desses antros que Serge conhece o escritor Boris Vian, que – encantado com o seu carácter e amena conversa - o incentiva a escrever as suas próprias canções.

Converteu-se então num boémio compositor francês, daqueles que viveu o Maio de 68. Era um tipo rebelde, inimigo da aristocracia, da Igreja e do estado. O protótipo do homem nocturno, mulherengo e descomplicado, todo um mito da sua geração, que do mesmo modo, teve uma morte prematura devido aos excessos com o álcool, o que o tornou numa lenda e no mais invejado dos homens do seu tempo, já que sem ser um Adonis, no seu curriculum constava ter seduzido uma das mulheres mais desejadas da época, a espampanante Brigitte Bardot, a quem fez cantar a sua bela e naquele tempo escandalosa canção, que não era mais que a representação de um encontro sexual entre dois amantes.
O tema é muito conhecido pela repetição da frase: “Je vais et je viens, entre tes reins” (Vou e venho, entre os teus quadris), tudo isto entre sugestivos sussurros e orgasmos até chegar ao clímax.

Je t’aime… moi non plus

Esta foi a sua canção mais famosa escrita em 1967 para a sua namorada de então, Brigitte Bardot. Quando foi gravada ela mesma interpretou a voz feminina, mas quando a canção começou a passar promocionalmente em França - e já se tinham separado - a diva voltou atrás e pediu-lhe o favor de não colocar mais discos à venda, que em nome desse amor que um dia tiveram retirasse o disco do mercado porque agora estava prestes a casar com um empresário e tinha medo de prejudicar a sua imagem. Serge não levantou problemas e voltou a gravar em 1968 com a bela Jane Birkin, a quem acabou por seduzir nos estúdios de gravação e se tornou no seu novo par.

 


A canção converteu-se num sucesso indiscutível em toda a Europa apesar de ter sido censurada e proibida em vários países, especialmente porque o jornal oficial do Vaticano, L’Osservatore, a qualificou de obscena. Foi proibida de passar nas rádios em Itália, Suécia, Espanha e Reino Unido, mas isso contribuiu para que fosse o vinil mais requisitado nessa época aos contrabandistas e, era óbvio, todos queriam ter em sua casa a que começaram a chamar de “a canção mais bela do mundo”. Curiosamente, mesmo com toda a censura, o disco chegou a ser n.1 nas listas da Grã-Bretanha.O grande Serge, sempre polêmico, também foi ameaçado de morte, na década de setenta, por por um grupo de radicais franceses porque cometera o “sacrilégio” de gravar A Marselhesa em versão reggae, numa das viagens que fez à Jamaica. O seu dia-a-dia, como ele mesmo assegurava, era uma festa contínua de álcool, cigarros Gitanes e mulheres. Com essa vida, não era de estranhar que morresse de paragem cardíaca. Imaginem vocês uma qualquer beleza francesa da época como Isabelle Adjani, Catherine Deneuve ou a então novíssima Vanessa Paradis. Todas elas sucumbiram aos seus encantos e estiveram dispostas a obedecer às ordens deste homem que conquistou quem quis a partir do seu 1,60 m de estatura e a sua “cara de destruído, mas bem destruído: pelos excessos e pela vida”, como ele mesmo se catalogava.

No Brasil, as primeiras tiras da Turma do Charlie Brown sairam na revista Pingo de Gente, Editora O Cruzeiro, cuja adaptação e projeto gráfico eram feitos pelo cartunista Ziraldo, que nos brindou com pérolas nas traduções: Charlie Brown virou João Barbosa (uma homenagem ao letrista da revista Pererê), Linus virou Lino, Snoopy ganhou a tradução literal de Xerêta, e Schroeder virou Essenfelder. Do nome original em ingles, Peanuts, também veio o apelido do Charlie: Minduin. Pingo de Gente teve vida curta, mas a primeira edição está aqui para recordar. A edição tem data de 10 de Março de 1963.
